The purpose of this report is to provide a review of the evidence [2000] about the relationship between the pricing and use of local authority sport and recreation services. The specific objectives are to comment on:
- The nature of the general evidence that the pricing of such services has a positive or negative effect on participation levels.
- The nature of evidence of practice where specific pricing interventions have been used positively to increase participation levels.
- The nature of any evidence as to how pricing affects participation and for whom.
