An Evaluation of the School Sports Co-ordinator Programme in Scotland

description

The School Sport Co-ordinator Programme (SSCP) is a four-year Lottery funded programme, which began in 1999. It is an application-based scheme providing financial assistance to Scotland's local authorities and secondary schools to appoint School Sport Co-ordinators (SSCs).

The aims of the SSCP are to:

  • Enhance the range and quality of current extended curricular sporting provision.
  • Influence and assist the development of sport within the wider community.

The aim of this study was to provide the necessary information to allow sportscotland to make decisions about the future direction of the School Sport Co-ordinator Programme.
