We have resisted any form of advertising on this site since 2002, it seems like a breach of the values of the project yet;
We have changed our minds, with over 30 emails a day from students and practitioners asking about courses, jobs, official organisations to join - and assessments of course, we have taken the view that a sort of "BBC" advertising may be both a service to our visitors to the site, as well as a way to financially sustain our efforts.
Our "BBC" approach is conceived as small, subtle and appropriate to the subject. We will not (and will never) banner advertise. A logo at the bottom of a page or all pages for an appropriate institution or course, a bit of email marketing where appropriate, is all we can bring ourselves to do, despite some considerable offers to do otherwise.
With over 4 gigabytes downloaded a month from some 3000 plus student and professional site visitors, the advertising opportunities for sports development courses at undergraduate and postgraduate and indeed professional membership bodies, is self evident.
Our server sees where visitors come from and where they go, we have lost count of the university, college and school intranets that have embedded our domain on their intranets, let alone the sport development sites that link to us - not just from the UK.
Our principal visits come from the UK's "Sport" Higher Education institutions, professionals and prospective students, and our student database number has grown to the size of a small town in Dorset!
We invite approaches from appropriate institutions to advertise on the site, there are a number of levels of packages that we offer including on-site and off-site marketing. Packages start at just £60 per year.
We reserve the right to reject applications if we consider them not appropraite.
