"The New Opportunities Fund provides Lottery funding for education, health and environment projects aimed at helping create lasting improvements to the quality of life, particularly in disadvantaged communities.
This document sets out what the New Opportunities Fund aims to achieve through its 581.25 million new opportunities for PE and sport programme in England. They hope that a wide range of organisations will find the document useful, both as a background to the programme and as a way to help identify how they might benefit from the funding available.
The New Opportunities Fund will commit a gross total of 581.25 million to the New opportunities for PE and sport programme in England. This funding will be used to support projects designed to bring about a stepchange in the provision of sporting facilities for young people and for the community."
