Access for Disabled People - Design Guidance Note

Sport England Website

description

This is the 2002 version of Sport England's design guidance notes for access to sports facilities for disabled people.

It provides 2002 accurate guidance in terms of legislation regarding disability access to both facilities and the countryside in addition to outlining specific design requirements for a variety of popular sports. The contact list, definitions and sports specific requirements are also useful.

The documents covers in context the Disability discrimination act, the Special educational needs and disability act 2001 and the British Standards 8300 Code of Practice (Design of Buildings)

The document provides an audit instrument for both students and professionals.
