Academics

OK, so you take issue with the narrative in one (or more) of our Rough Guides, we are bias.... misguided theoretically, need a theory or policy balance - or plainly are just wrong!

Or do we just need another rough guide on a topic that we've missed?.......

Our rough guides are not definitive, nor are we gurus in any area of sport development, given the nature of the subject we are often out of date, out of touch or are not as focussed on the envelope pushing that a keen academic like you might be. In essence, and given time, it is quite certain that sometimes we are bound to get it wrong!

We welcome the opinions of fellow academics..... no... put another way, we need the opinions of others to help us achieve our mission to give students the best possible introduction to the sport development subject area.

We welcome new "rough guide" narrative from academics, about 500 - 1000 words, linking to documents we hold onsite (we can add stuff that's relevant) or offsite (journals etc.) - our guidance is fairly simple;

Rough Guides need to;

  • Summarise the subject for students
  • Place the subject area in a theoretical context
  • Link to available resources (on or offsite)
  • Provide guidance for further study

We welcome bibliographies that we can publish in subjects.

All Rough Guides should be written for HE level 2 /3 students.

We would like to receive such submissions for making into "rough guides", we reserve the right to edit such submissions, but we will send edits to authors for agreement prior to web publication. All Rough guide authors are acknowledged on the page, along with their institutions, where appropriate and agreed.

So don't get cheesed off....... get published and put us right! Over 500 students visit us every week so getting it right is important to us and........ you could change the future!
