The academic world that is sports development is moving at a pace. This email contact list is designed to support new academics and teachers and to avail more experienced academics of sharing their knowledge.
We only allow bona-fide teachers and academics to join this list but that's all the control we have, students and non-academic professionals are precluded from this list, is that a form of hegemony?
Additionally, we are also BETA testing a discussion forum for students where we will need academics and professionals to engage, if it is to be successful, providing advice, directional signs and help for sports development students at a variety of levels. Again this is intended to be a "real time", web based resource. [ you will know that ILAM developed a similar forum for student advice with some mixed success and which rather failed to engage the academic community and students, yet we feel that the interest from academics so far in our site and the volume of traffic that we get - ILAM would be lucky to get in a month what we get in a day! - may provide the chance to develop a meaningful learning and teaching community base, but we can't do it without you! Please have a look here
Our profession is young, and we have the opportunity for leading academics to support new ones in order to shape our profession, its teaching, research and academic quality.
If you teach or research in sports development we ask you to join this fledgling community so that we can all benefit.
As an academic member you will get email monthly about what we have added to the site, research requests and details of research, teaching and conference opportunities as well as opportunities to participate in things we are doing for students that require academic support.
